TRAVEL CHANGES YOU🪶Spent about 20 days this past month living out of a suitcase: solo trip to the low-country of South Carolina, the barrier islands of Georgia and the marshlands of Florida to the gorgeous Pacific Northwest exploring Oregon and Washington.

📷Filled my camera roll with snaps of the powerful ocean, surreal mountains and the most beautiful sunsets—but more importantly, I fed my soul with fresh air and new adventures that have left me feeling refreshed and renewed.

Adventuring teaches me to savor the small and really tune into the beauty that surrounds me.

H U M B L E D & G R A T E F U L🪺

The more I travel, the more I realize why Kathleen Lee Bates penned the words to the famous poem AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL:

O beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain—
For purple mountains majesty:
Above the fruited plain.

I find myself singing this every time I stand in awe—awe of the mountains, the sunsets and the way the world just keeps turning—and it’s absolutely breathtaking.

If you ever need re-centering or a possible re-alignment to your purpose, go outside and get fresh air. Put yourself in a new environment and pay attention to the birds who sing without knowing what tomorrow brings, the buffalo who enjoy grazing on whatever lies before them and the water that just flows through the path created.

You feel incredibly small yet BIG at the same time: courageous, grateful and humbled.

HEY👋🏻 3-2-1- RUN CHECK:
👟I started long distance running 13 years ago when a group of friends decided to head to Nashville to run their first half marathon.
👟I thought they were crazy, but I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to see this cool city—so, of course, I signed up!
👟I started training with the 8:1 minute theory: run 8 minutes then walk 1 minute. You can do anything for 8 minutes, right? It taught my brain that relief would come to my lungs and legs—I just had to push through.

🏃🏼‍♀️Crazy enough, I severely sprained my ankle two weeks before the race & started physical therapy, hoping I could still run. I didn’t know if my ankle would stay in place for 13 miles, but I’ve never been one to give up easy.
🏃🏼‍♀️My first race, I learned that running is not a physical game: it’s a mental one.

💪🏻I still have lots to learn about running—believe me, there is always room for improvement with my training, but this sport has allowed me to fall in love with fitness & the outdoors and has spurred such a love for fresh air and overall health.
